On The Road Again
By: Andrew McRoberts, Editor. This was posted Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012
Over the coming week, I’ll be on the road again, in Alexandria and in Lynchburg, speaking on local government law topics.
First, at the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia conference in Alexandria, I’ll be speaking on Virginia case law. All of these cases have been mentioned on this blog. I’m looking forward to serving on this panel that includes other fine local government attorneys including Stephen A. MacIsaac, Arlington County Attorney. (Arlington County is my former employer which gave me my start in the full-time practice of local government law!) Also on the panel is Stephen C. Piepgrass, of Troutman Sanders, and the moderator is Gregory Haley, of Gentry Locke.
Next, at the Plan Virginia Commonwealth Land Use and Zoning Conference in Lynchburg, I’ll be speaking about the constitutional bases and limitations on local government zoning authority, local planning commissions and their relationships with governing bodies, and finally on the adoption, review and amendment of local government comprehensive plans.
Glad to be out speaking to clients, friends, and colleagues. Hope to see you on the road!
