Times-Dispatch Editorial shines light on Andrew McRoberts Representation

Published on: 8/31/2014 The Sunday, August 31, 2014 issue of the Richmond Times-Dispatch included the editorial “No” covering the zoning application that Richmond City Council is considering for The James at River’s Bend condominium development near Libby Hill Park.  Andrew McRoberts is referenced throughout the editorial as providing the legal reasons the City Council does not have the power to issue a special-use permit (SUP), which McRoberts notes is “strictly limited” in the City Charter.

“The decisive points come from Andrew R. McRoberts, a lawyer with the respected Richmond law firm of Sands Anderson. Before joining the firm McRoberts had a lengthy career as a county attorney in Arlington, Goochland, and Culpeper. He has worked on zoning issues on behalf of the Virginia Association of Counties, and has defended Hampton in a complex zoning case. He knows his subject well.”
